In vitro testing
Prioritizing in vitro assays for screening compounds.
3Rs-based procedures have to be used in the field of chemical risk assessment. Thus, we first propose to evaluate developmental neurotoxicity on cell models such as neural stem cells coming from the subventricular zone. We can
thus verify whether chemicals alter relevant cellular mechanisms involved in brain development (survival, migration, differentiation). We also propose models of neuron, astrocyte and microglia primary culture. In case compounds display
disturbing activities, we propose in vivo models, compliant with OECD guidelines TG 424 and 426.
Neurotoxicity (NT) and Developmental Neurotoxicity (DNT) testing
OECD TG424 (NT) & TG 426 (DNT).
We primarily evaluate NT and DNT risks associated to your chemicals in compliance with requirements emanating from OECD guidelines TG 424 and 426. We can assess either all or only one part of these requirements. We can also add relevant
outcomes and customize procedures if needed. You can find examples in our publications (see refs 1, 2 and 3 in the footnotes). Feel free to contact us for additional details.
Efficacy of CNS pharmaceuticals
Innovative mouse models of CNS disorders.
NB PharmaTox assesses efficacy of your candidate molecules on brand new mouse models of CNS disorders, the specific feature of which lying in the fact that related disorder is of developmental & environmental origin, i.e. resulting
from exposure to chronic & low dose environmental chemical exposure during the perinatal period of brain development. Therefore, we are able to propose developmental model of autism-like disorders and Schizophrenia-like symptoms
(unpublished work). We also offer the possibility to work with genetic model of Schizophrenia.
Behavioral Phenotyping Services
Standardised & 3R-based optimized assays
Thanks to our expertise in both automated (videotracking softwares) and ethologically-relevant measurement, we are able to decipher behavioral defects displayed by your mice after genetic, parmacological or environmental manipulations.
To this end, we benefit from a variety of apparatus / assays to make your animals speak . 3R-based procedures can be used to make your experiments more respectul of animal welfare.
